In Grand Bassa County: REALISE Project enrolls over 7,000 households into Cash Transfer Program

The Recovery of Economic Activity for Liberian Informal Sector Employment (REALISE) has announced the enrolment of over 7000 beneficiaries into its Cash Transfer Program in Grand Bassa County.

Grand Bassa County is a part of a group of four counties receiving unconditional Cash Transfers under the REALISE Project. Grand Kru, Rivercess, and River Gee counties are part of this initiative.

The component Manager Shadrach Gbokie said, “we are hopeful that other counties under this program will start to receive cash in the next few months”. A huge number of beneficiaries in Grand Kru County have already received cash through the Management Information System.

The SCT provides unconditional cash transfers to households identified as highly vulnerable. These transfers are intended to help beneficiaries meet essential needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare, thereby improving their immediate well-being and economic stability.

The program is implemented in close coordination with the Liberia Household Social Registry (LHSR), a national database endorsed by the Liberian Cabinet in January 2020. The LHSR serves as the primary targeting tool for all government social protection programs, ensuring that assistance reaches those most needy.
