REALISE Project kicks off Implementation Mission

Monrovia, April 22, 2024 – The REALISE Project, in collaboration with the World Bank, commences its inaugural implementation mission for 2024, with a heightened focus on critical advancements across its various components. Notably, this mission marks the debut under Liberia’s new administration.

Jesse Bengu, the Project Coordinator, expressed the significance of this mission, stating, “It encompasses several new aspects demanding the attention and concerted efforts of the Project Management Team.”

Providing an overview of the mission, Mack Mulbah, the Task Team Leader from the World Bank, underscored its emphasis on pivotal implementation issues, particularly in light of developments since the project’s additional financing. This includes the integration of Social Cash Transfer and Community Livelihood and Agriculture Support components.

Steisi, representing the World Bank also, highlighted the critical nature of discussions surrounding Component 6B for the project’s successful execution. She remarked, “The efficacy of the Liberia Household Social Registry will demonstrate the government’s commitment to utilizing the system for poverty alleviation programs.”

Leading the proceedings for the PMT is Aurelius Butler, the National Coordinator on Social Protection, while Project Coordinator Jesse Bengu participates remotely. Butler extended a warm welcome to all attendees and expressed gratitude for their timely participation in the mission.

The mission is slated to continue until May 3, 2024.
